Surprised! Tiger in a Tropical Storm

Commissioned by Jackie Armstrong in 2015, from a National Gallery print, ‘Tiger Surprised in a Tropical Storm’ by Henri Rousseau. This is a 433pc jigsaw, 14x11.2in, with interlocking edge and push-fit interior. Rob has line-cut around many of the plants, trees and the tiger (and I would have welcomed even more line-cutting). You can see Rob's signature whimsy trio - R, a heart and a 2-piece outline of his dog Rufus.

I started with the edge, assembled the red leaves and the characteristic grass along the lower edge, dark plant and the lower third led to the tiger. Next were the trees, leaving the central patch until last.
