The Music Lesson

Nicki Barker had a very special partnership with Rob Garner as his chief patron and collaborator, finding images and suggesting cut-design features for most of his commissions after 2009. This was a late design and Rob delighted Nicki by surprising her, cutting away the background of this painting to produce a very successful shaped jigsaw. Rob still found room for two of his trademark whimsies – R and the heart.

Nicki sent this jigsaw to the BCD 40th Anniversary House Party in Feb 2025, as the nominated example of Rob’s work at our celebration of BCD hand-cutters.
