Coming from a collection of similarly boxed puzzles, cut for and by the Atkinson family, this example is estimated to be of c1920's-1930's manufacture. This non-interlocking plywood jigsaw puzzle posed quite a challenge to assemble, but the finished article certainly justified the effort. The unsigned and colourful artwork, with its "Norway Welcomes You" inscription, is thought likely to have originated as a cruise line poster.
The puzzle is colour line-cut throughout and has the top corners rounded off.
