Clifford, C.E.

Early 20th century British brand of wooden jigsaw puzzles, made elsewhere but marketed through this "Fine Art Publishers", from their company address of 12, Bury Street St, James', London, where they operated c1911-1914.

The example "Obstinacy" shows clear similarities to the push-fit cutting style of nearby London-based manufacturer William Peacock and Sons, whilst the puzzle "An Old Time Encounter" features a far more complex interlocking cutting style with colour line-cutting.
