Detail of Empire Panel

During London Open Weekend 2011, I (Jackie A) visited the Daily Express Offices in Fleet Street and photographed parts of this amazing plaster-relief mural, painted in metallic tones. In 2015 I asked Genest to make me a line-cut jigsaw of this detail of Empire Panel and he cut a stack of two jigsaws. I was unable to get very far without referring to my photo, but Mike Card (who bought the lower copy) managed it without a reference in 2024. The 834pc jigsaw took him twice as long as any other jigsaw he has attempted to date. An incredibly difficult jigsaw, a most extreme line-cut with no interlocking edge, completely push-fit. Genest’s snail is three-quarters of the way up near the right edge.
