Falcon (1976 - 1996)

The brand name of Falcon Games Limited which was set up by Harry Jondorf and Peter Adby, previously of Arrow Games, in 1976. They were able to acquire equipment and premises in Hatfield, Hertfordshire and rapidly became a major UK manufacturer of card puzzles, also with a significant export market. The pamphlet (undated) and other illustrations give information on the ranges of puzzles they offered, which were extensive. In 1996 Harry Jondorf retired and the company was sold to Hausemann and Hotte, the current owners of Jumbo Games B.V.

Although not the end of the "Falcon" brand any puzzles made after this take-over are listed under "Jumbo".

Much more comprehensive information can be accessed by visiting the Falcon Group on Flickr which also has details of Falcon puzzles made after 1996.

A fuller history of Falcon Games Limited can be found on page 33 of Tom Tyler's book "British Jigsaw Puzzles of the 20th Century".
