An Omnibus Ride To Piccadilly Circus, Alfred Morgan

A late ‘Fifth Dimension’ jigsaw cut for David Pollard in Jan 2019 and displayed at Terry’s lecture with demonstration at the BCD 2019 House Party. The jigsaw has 543 pieces, consolidated into 5-levels to mimic the perspective of the painting’s tight composition.

The painting, admirably suited to Terry’s advanced 3D-enhanced treatment, is 'An Omnibus Ride To Piccadilly: Mr Gladstone Travelling with Ordinary Passengers, 1885' by Alfred Morgan. The top hatted gentleman is the Liberal politician William Ewart Gladstone, at the time in his second term as Prime Minister (1880-1885). The V&A has a sketch for the painting. There was a genre of mid - late 19thC painting depicting modern life & transport, and Terry cut a number of them.
Dave Evans also cut this image.
