On a Journey to a Beautiful Countryside

A 758pc 3D-enhanced jigsaw, ‘On A Ride’ by A Von Menzel, cut as a mystery jigsaw for Bronwen in late 2017. Terry has created a large, masterly 3D-enhanced jigsaw in 5 levels in his mixed cutting style – partly interlocking partly push-fit. It is signed ETJ, his later whimsy signature, used in memory of his wife Eileen, after her death.

Fine art transport themes – train & bus journeys - were a favourite subject for Terry’s jigsaws.
The 1892 painting is called ‘On a Journey to a Beautiful Countryside’ in the Beidermeier art style. Menzel had painted the subject 40 years earlier in a less comical, realist style.
