OvB

The brand of Swedish manufacturer Otto Vilhelm Bergendorff.

Following a suggestion from his wife, Otto started cutting puzzles in Stockholm in 1912 with a scroll-saw acquired from his previous employer. The business prospered, helped by a profitable association with Stockholm’s prestigious NK Department Store and the fact that jigsaw puzzles had become very popular in the years between WW1 and WW2. It is understood that production ceased in the mid 1940's when the company was sold off.

The puzzles come in light blue coloured lidded boxes with no guide picture and the title handwritten on the base. They have a good number of interesting whimsies (shaped pieces).
