Danaides

Another commission to Heather by David Pollard. This rich, autumnal-toned painting shows five women trying in vain to fill a vessel with spouts that dissipates their efforts. In classical mythology, the 49 Danaides were condemned to this eternal task as a punishment for murdering their husbands on their wedding night (in obedience to their father). The three central women and the leaky vessel are 3D-enhanced.
