Schmid FX

FX Schmid GMBH was founded in Germany 1860 as a maker of toys and playing cards. Cardboard jigsaw production started in 1955 after the factory was relocated and the company became a major puzzle manufacturer. However, it ran into financial difficulties in the mid 1990's and was taken over by Ravensburger in 1996 who still use the FXS brand for some books and games but not for puzzles..
