Superb example of a German "Zeitvertreib" wooden jigsaw puzzle, cut in a continuous cut, interlocking manner. The board is cut in a very intricately weaving, single maze-like line creating just two large sections. These are then dissected with short straight cuts into the required number of individual pieces, 250 in this example.
This is a similar method to that used by the British "Expert" brand. See the example Highland Cattle by way of a comparison between both styles.
The beautiful painting , featuring Lathyrus Latifolius, or Sweet Peas, is by the British floral artist Rebecca Foster, a member of the Nottingham Society of Artists who is understood to have exhibited at the Nottingham Museum and Art Gallery between 1898 and 1939.
The puzzle is housed in an equally high quality card box with simulated wood covering.
