Cruising Liner, A

This puzzles shows the Cunard liner "Franconia" in an eastern port disembarking passengers. Presumably intended to publicise Cunard's cruising activities rather than straight transportation from A to B.

The RMS Franconia in this puzzle was the second liner of that name, entering service with Cunard in 1923. She was originally painted white as shown and functioned as a cruise liner in the winter months before WW2. She was used as Winston Churchill's HQ during the Yalta Conference. After that she plied between New York and Canada before being scrapped in 1956.

This example is the same size as that illustrated in Tom Tyler's CV Promotional Puzzles book but has 200 pieces.

The puzzle is housed in a red and white marbled bookshelf style box with ribbon ties.
