1. R.M.S. Alaunia

A view of R.M.S. Alaunia by C.E. Turner with a fishing trawler at left and a lighthouse at right. The same picture also appears in a set of six 30-piece puzzles.

This ship was built by John Brown in Glasgow and launched in 1925. It continued in service with Cunard, mainly on the Canadian route until 1939 when it was sold to the Royal Navy, initially as a troop ship. It was finally broken up in 1957.
