Berengaria (Side View)

Built in the Imperial Germany of 1913 and originally named the Imperator, this magnificent ship was seized by the United States Navy at the end of the Great War in 1919 for use as a troop transporter, later being handed over to the shipping controller in London, before being sold to Cunard in 1920, when she was renamed Berengaria.
She became the flagship of the fleet, and remained one of the Company's most beautiful and popular ships right up until the arrival of the two sister liners, Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth in 1936.
