Sweet Summertime

Superbly preserved example from this uncommon Chad Valley range of plywood jigsaw puzzles, here featuring a landscape painting by the German artist Wilhelm Schacht (1872-1951).

The puzzle is cut in Chad Valley's most traditional cutting style and features some colour line-cutting.

Over the length of its life thus far, there is relatively minimal wear, but still the Company claim of "Unbreakable" does seem slightly over confident in its boldness! Two of the most significant breaks are shown adjacent to a ruler for purposes of judgment. A piece count of just 198 also slightly brings into question some of their counting/quality control standards with the box label indicating a significantly higher number of about 225.
