You Simply Must Save Water

Predominantly interlocking plywood jigsaw puzzle cut in 2013 and featuring some colour line-cutting. This puzzle was my first exercise in cutting one of a collection of Bonzo prints acquired, with others intended to practice and display alternative cutting styles. Here, I have created interlocks reminiscent of those used by Tuck's and have tried to separate the white border as much as possible from the main subject area.
The painting is a reproduction of one of G.E. Studdy's beautiful studies for the Sketch newspaper and carries the artist's 1922 signature.
