Merrie England

Large example of an "Expert" branded plywood jigsaw puzzle featuring a colourful painting by the Anglo-French illustrator Amédée Forestier (1854-1930). The artist signature appears in the lower left corner and is thought to be dated 1919.

This beautifully cut puzzle is estimated to be of late 1920s-early 1930s manufacture.
