Election at Eatanswill, The

410-piece, semi-interlocking wooden jigsaw puzzle featuring a very fine quality print reproduction of one of Albert Ludovici Jnr.'s Dickens Coaching series of paintings.

The puzzle is of solid mahogany construction which, along with the box identification details help to narrow the likely manufacturing date to their earliest production dates c1907-1910, with post 1910 examples referencing the late King Edward VII. The cutting style is also rather more tentative than later examples, with colour line-cutting being employed to a far lesser extent.

Sixteen of these artistic studies were also used in Raphael Tuck's Zag-Zaw range, with this particular painting featuring in this Zag-Zaw example.
