Another fine example of Holtzapffel's incredibly challenging cutting style, colour line-cut at almost every conceivable opportunity and in a predominantly push-fit, or non-interlocking style.
The painting is another by the British artist-illustrator Henry Justice Ford, who also features on the very similarly cut puzzles Augustine Preaching before King Ethelbert and King John Signs Magna Carta, both manufactured at approximately the same time, which from the box labelling information would be around 1932 or slightly later.
