Bunty Pulls the Strings

The solid mahogany backing for this Figure=It=Out jigsaw puzzle, combined with its cutting style, indicates quite early origins for this example. The title is included in the company's pre-1922 price list, as one of four available titles in this 175 piece format.
Once more the artwork has its origins within the theatrical circle, depicting a scene from Graham Moffat's 1910 comedy Bunty Pulls the Strings. The puzzle print itself was clearly a reproduction of a photograph of actor Watson Hume as Weelum Sprunt and actress Miss Kate Moffat as Bunty Biggar (see postcard)
