Janville 1870

Challenging, non-interlocking wooden jigsaw puzzle, formerly part of the stock of the British Jigsaw Puzzle Library. The print, of an 1888 dated painting by the French artist Paul Grolleron (1848-1901), is mounted on solid wood and features a humanitarian scene in Janville during the Franco Prussian war.
The puzzle features accurate colour line-cutting and is estimated to be of c1930s-1950s origin.
