Leamington Town Hall

A 1180-pieces plywood puzzle of Leamington Spa Town Hall (Grade II listed) which was designed by architect John Cundell and built in 1884. It is now the meeting place of Royal Leamington Spa Town Council and Warwickshire District Council. The statue of Queen Victoria was erected in 1902.

The photograph is from the September 1986 edition of "Child Education" which was circulated to nursery and primary school teachers, giving advice and information on a broad range of interests and activities as well as fostering learning. It is understood that an online version still circulates.

The puzzle was cut by Richard Sawbridge and features much line cutting around the building structure and surrounding streets. There are a large number of split tabs and lobes which make it more challenging to assemble.

Some pieces bear the number on the box so it is reasonable to say that the puzzle was cut for the BJPL while it was based in Leamington. It is contained in a plain library box.
