Swan Inn, The

Quite a challenging plywood jigsaw puzzle from the library but of uncertain cutter identity. Unusually, the luggage-style details label does not provide this information. The reverse records completion dates from 1969, so perhaps most likely to have been cut by Dolly McDougall.

The painting is signed by the artist Edward Walker and features the London-Bath coach. Whether the Swan Inn depicted refers to that at Kingsdown, above the village of Box in Wiltshire is unconfirmed. This was originally on the coaching route but looks very different today.
