Dollar Princess, The

Stunning painting, attributed to the artist Richard Pannett, understood to have originated as a poster promoting the 1928 London production of the theatrical musical of the same name, which featured the British actress/singer Evelyn Laye. Outline cut around the main subjects and incorporating 19 whimsies, or figural shaped pieces, the puzzle also features colour line-cutting throughout.

This example carries a label for Henry's Civet Cat Bazaar of 22, King Street, Manchester.

Evelyn Laye also features in the Holtzapffel puzzle Madame Pompadour from the 1923 London production of this operetta.
The last image is of a c1920's postcard promoting the production.
