Life on the Cliff

An oval-shaped wooden puzzle cut by Eric Pedley from a Shell Guide to Life on the Cliff, an educational poster issued by Shell in the 1950's designed by John Leigh-Pemberton.

The birds and animals have been left intact as very large shaped pieces and the lugs interlocking each edge piece are beak-shaped in tune with the subject. Inserts illustrate these feature as well as some other skilful line cutting.

Many thanks to Jackie Armstrong for the photo of the shaped pieces and information on the artist
