Pan

A quite brilliantly thought out plywood jigsaw puzzle, cut by Eric Pedley for the British Jigsaw Puzzle Library and thought to date from the 1990s.
The design of this masterpiece must have taken considerable time, not to mention imagination, with the overall achievement of creating a fully interlocking and irregular outer edge. This border incorporates nineteen of the twenty-six butterfly shapes cut into the puzzle, each consisting of two wing-pieces and one body-piece. Adding in his typical very carefully executed colour line-cutting, has created a very special puzzle indeed. Quite extraordinary! The mythologically-themed painting is unsigned.
