Galleon

34-piece, double thickness plywood jigsaw puzzle in tray-style box, featuring a colourful painting of a galleon. The print carries what appear to be the artist's initials in the lower right corner, possibly "GHH".

The box and organisation name of "Royal National Institute for the Blind" help to date this puzzle to post 1953 when that title was adopted. I don't believe it dates from much later than that, with later boxes also showing the shortened "RNIB" identity.

Some features on both the subject area and waves are embossed with raised dots to aid assembly.
