Twelve Months

A quite spectacular plywood jigsaw puzzle, believed to be of c2000 manufacture, cut in her usual, highly accomplished interlocking style. Widespread colour line-cutting and a very irregular edge add to the challenge of assembly, but the presence of so many drop-outs, or voids make it ever more so.

The colourful unsigned artwork may have originated as a single 12 month wall calendar, with the void beneath each of the twelve seasonal scenes likely to have contained the dates relevant to the month depicted there. The additional drop-outs were perhaps areas of plain white background which Sara thought best to omit.

Altogether a very special puzzle example from this brilliant and very sadly missed British cutter.

The puzzle is housed in a blue tube with white end caps and a printed label with hand-written details.
