Venice the Beautiful

Very fine quality 300 piece plywood puzzle exhibiting the cutting style of the "Expert" brand who are thought to have produced these for A. Brown and Sons Ltd., to sell in their bookstores.

The artist is believed to be the prolific American artist Thomas Moran (1837-1926), a partial signature showing in the lower right.

I am very grateful to V. Mendham for allowing me to feature her images of this super example here to share with other Jigasaurus visitors. Her images show the initial vertical cut and the secondary horizontal ones which would have been performed in order to make the cutter's remaining intricate cutting work far more manageable to achieve.
