Matchless (3d)

A range of 117-piece card puzzles presumed to have been sold in the 1930's at three old pence each. This converts to 1¼ new pence and this would be equivalent to about £1.25 today.

Most pieces have only one interlocking tab with a variety of wavy and straight edges. They fit very loosely so it is often uncertain which pieces go together, which makes these puzzles more challenging. The lack of interlocking tabs causes them to fall apart easily during assembly.

With economy in mind they have been rather crudely stamped out from thin-gauge cardboard and contain 117 pieces (9 x 13).

Boxes have been stamped out from one piece of card and folded so they can be opened at either end. The front bears a basic description of the range and a price of "3d" but no guide picture. Available titles are listed by number on the back (illustrated).
