Strathmore Toys Ltd.

Recently discovered manufacturer based in Perth, Scotland, producing wooden puzzles under the Fair Maid Series, presumably after the Walter Scott novel The Fair Maid of Perth.

They are also known to have produced a set of wooden puzzles under the title of "U-Shape-a-car", promoting British Motor Cars. The first of these was entitled: No. 1 Rover 10HP Saloon and the puzzle also contained a descriptive slip about the car, including the purchase price of £290 plus £81 6s 1p Purchase Tax. Sadly, I cannot display any more information here as I do not yet have a copy to photograph. This information was taken from information gleaned in 2015.
