Homeward Returning (Goose Girl)

Very well cut plywood jigsaw puzzle, featuring a painting by the British artist Henry John Yeend King (1855-1924). The original box label, quoting a price of 15/6, shows a title of "Homeward Returning", with what appears to be a previous owner's addition of "Goose Girl", the title by which the original painting is best known.

The puzzle is estimated to be of c1920s-early 1930s manufacture and employs the brand's typical practices of cutting the main subject areas as non-interlocking, with colour line-cutting aplenty, with the surrounding pieces cut semi-interlocking and the frame border as fully interlocking.
