Sunkissed Maiden, A

This is a most unusual and highly effective deviation from the standard rectangular puzzles and features a beautiful artistic study by the French artist Marcel Malatier. The oval border of the puzzle seems likely to have mirrored that of the original print itself, the artist signature following the same contours as the lower edge.

I should perhaps point out that, whilst the vast majority of the puzzles on display always appear complete, this is not necessarily the case when I first see them. Here is a fine case in point, with the original puzzle sadly missing five of its original pieces. Some five hours or so of painstaking scanning, cutting, painting and finishing touches were required to get it back into the condition you see in the main image. The final shot shows it as it arrived!.
