Fleet at Gibraltar, The

This 400 piece non-interlocking cardboard jigsaw puzzle features a very fine painting of the British Fleet at Gibraltar, painted by the British maritime artist Frank Mason, dated 1938 by his signature. The puzzle was issued With the Compliments of A. Balfour & Co Ltd Capital Steel Works, Sheffield, England.
Although this example does not feature a manufacturer name, Chad Valley are likely to have been involved. The cutting style is very reminiscent of that employed in some of their other promotional puzzles including The Milky Way to Health. In further support of this thought comes the Chad Valley credited version featuring this same painting and similarly promoting A. Balfour & Co
