Welton House

The manufacturer of this plywood jigsaw puzzle, one of a limited edition of 250 pieces, is unidentified, but shows distinct similarities to AVN Jones cutting style. The puzzle was commissioned by Valerie and Sir Halford Reddish as the last of their Christmas tokens, quoted on the box lid as-an exuberant finale, a farewell piece, more exactly a collection of 550 pieces. Next year we will greet you in a simpler way. And now, a happy Christmas to you! Christmas 1961
The puzzle features a photograph of Welton House, their family home in Daventry, Northamptonshire, some ten miles south of Rugby in Warwickshire. Sir Halford Reddish was a director and the Chairman of Rugby Portland Cement.
