Peeps at Whitby

This is a really special puzzle by an unidentified cutter, full of interest and featuring a superb piece of artwork with depictions of scenes from around the seaside resort of Whitby on the North Yorkshire coastline.
The semi-interlocking plywood jigsaw puzzle contains just 597 pieces but was challenging nonetheless and provided members of the BCD with several hours enjoyment at their September 2015 meeting in Cheltenham, still remaining unfinished at the end of the day, but now displayed here in its entirety.
The puzzle is housed in a sturdy card box with handwritten end label, having originated as a box for Anne Austen Ltd, 48 Knightsbridge in South West London. A note in the box advises of just three times that the puzzle was completed by its owner, then 81 years of age in 1988. The end label also carries a note that the print was a poster and its layout certainly carries those sort of characteristics, although I have not yet managed to trace any further information on the unsigned artwork.
The puzzle has been brilliantly cut with a whole host of shaped pieces, mostly in the shape of letters and the upper edge has been given a contoured outline leading up to the building on the hill in the upper right corner.
Please let me know if you can shed any further light on the origins of the print. Thank you.
