Eskimo Village Life

Partially colour line-cut plywood jigsaw puzzle cut by Miss E. Smith of Charlton Kings, Cheltenham for the benefit of the Universities Mission to Central Africa. Shows a mother carrying her baby and other children playing nearby. A sledge is being loaded in the background where igloos are visible. Close-ups show the cutting style more clearly and the artist's signature.

NB - When this puzzle was cut all people who lived in the Arctic regions were commonly known elsewhere as 'Eskimos' but this description is now regarded with some offence. They are now referred to according to their place of abode, eg the Inuit people who live in North Canada.
