Question of Colour

This beautiful plywood puzzle proved very challenging to assemble, the artwork having been very skillfully colour line-cut at almost every colour border. The painting, signed W. Small, believed to be the Scottish artist William Small (1843-1929), is a charming study in which there is also considerable interest away from the main subject, such as the Union Jack toting river boat in the upper left quadrant and the white-suited gentleman in the upper right area, facing away and reading his newspaper.
The puzzle itself has been cut in a predominantly push-fit style within a generally interlocking border.
