Hallali

A hunting scene by the Italian artist Renato Berti, signed with the anagram 'Ribet'. 'Hallali' is thought to be the French equivalent of our 'Tally Ho!'

It is suspected that 'Whiteleys' on the box refers to the well-known department store in Queensway, London which closed in the early 1980's.

The puzzle includes six shaped pieces, (whimsies). The box lid appears to have originally been secured with a ribbon which has subsequently been lost.
Date of manufacture unknown but suggested to be just before or just after WW2.
