Grand National" (courses), Le

This 500 piece Royal plywood puzzle features a scene from the 1920 Grand National horse race, painted by the British artist Cecil Aldin, one of a series of four paintings he undertook at the race which were published by Richard Wyman & Co., London.
Here he captures the action at the fence, Valentine's Brook, the other three prints in the set being: The First Open Ditch, Becher's Brook and The Canal Turn.
The cutting style of the puzzle is quite typical of the brand, with a fully interlocking border and all non-interlocking, or push-fit within the remainder of the puzzle.
