Queen Mary (500 piece)

Large size plywood jigsaw puzzle which shows a picture on the box lid of the familiar Victory Queen Mary image, whilst the puzzle itself is cut from the William McDowell painting used by Chad Valley for puzzles in their Cunard series.
This 500 piece version quotes 534 on the box-lid, which was the number given to the hull before she was renamed Queen Mary. This, along with a price label of only 7/6, probably dates this puzzle to somewhere between the ship's launch in 1934, or maiden voyage in 1936. Another, 600 piece version is also featured, which shows a price of 22/6, or 3 times that of this example, so probably dates from considerably later on.
