22. Farmyard Friends

Fully interlocking, thick plywood jigsaw puzzle, estimated to be from just after WWII manufacture. The puzzle assembles inside its box, which also carries a full sized guide picture on the lid. As with other examples from the series, a label pasted inside the box lid list a set of questions to encourage instructive conversation about the setting. This image was number 22 in the series of educational posters issued by Macmillan as infant school teaching practice.

Also included are nine "whimsies", or figural shaped pieces, the same selection as seen in others from the series.
