High quality plywood jigsaw puzzle from Victory, supplied in a sturdy hinge-lidded box and dated to the c1920s. The puzzle includes twelve figural shaped pieces.
Unusually, the box lid features a ribbon bow, something I have not previously seen on one of their boxes, although it was a feature of some "Salmon" jigsaw puzzles, one of the company's main competitors of the time.
The artist signature is very faint, but another example of the puzzle appears to read an artist signature of A.B. White. I notice a little white cat in the background by the garden gate, who seems either entirely indifferent to the subject, or is simply taking a very wide berth!
