Shaw Savill Liner S.S. "Gothic"

Launched in 1947, S.S. Gothic was the last of four Corinthic Class Liners ordered by the Shaw, Savill & Albion Steamship Co. In 1951 she was refitted for her new role as Royal Yacht and her hull was painted white, as is seen here. The hull was repainted black at the completion of her Royal duties, understood to have been around 1954 with the launch of the new Royal Yacht Britannia.
