242. Duchess of the Night

A fine depiction by Malcolm Root of the "Duchess of Sutherland" locomotive which was used to pull the LMS "Coronation Scot" train.

This example has been cut from wood composition and is packed in a beige-coloured box as adopted by Wentworth in the late 2000's. It has the same reference number as puzzles previously issued in green boxes and cut from 3-ply wood so has been included in the "Classic Steam Trains" Series.

The whimsies are railway-related.

This same piece of artwork was also used for a hand cut plywood jigsaw puzzle by the great British cutter Andrew Kershaw under the title of Camden Night
