Grande Jatte, La (Study version)

A 'Mammoth' puzzle by Wentworth with 1800 pieces and nearly 150 whimsies, packed in a pine box.

The picture in this example is in the New York Museum of Modern Art but is a "study" version painted by Seurat before he started work on the final canvas (see photo). It looks superficially like the correct picture as the main features are in similar positions which may be why Wentworth created a puzzle of it by mistake.

The description was subsequently changed to acknowledge the study version but puzzles of the correct picture were not launched until 2022.
