Pickwick

This 70-piece, non-interlocking jigsaw puzzle, which features a Cecil Aldin print and is mounted on solid mahogany, does not carry the usual printed design label associated with Lady Beatrix Wilkinson's charitable puzzles but came with a collection of such puzzles. The letters B.W. written on the box base however, lead me towards the belief that it was cut by her. It is estimated to be of c1930s manufacture.

The print is of a painting, entitled "He ran to his Assistance" from Charles Dickens' "The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club".
