Cottage by the Sea, A

5mm thick mahogany-backed wooden jigsaw puzzle, cut as a 450 piece, fully interlocking puzzle with 10 figural shapes, or whimsies and estimated to be of 1919/20 origin.

The painting is unsigned but is reminiscent of the work of British artists Ernest Walbourn and Henry John Yeend King, both of whose work features widely as jigsaw artwork of this era.
