Peters (Worcester), James

Cleverly constructed puzzles featuring hexagonal ceramic tiles which assemble into a very effective image, housed in matching-shaped, high quality felt-lined display boxes with hinged lids. The lid also houses a smaller, hexagonal guide image, cleverly concealed under a push-fit cover of the same lining material as the box.

Whether they should be regarded as Jig-Saw puzzles is uncertain, but given the nature of them and the undoubted challenges of assembly, it seems reasonable to dedicate an album to them here.

I have yet to assess the likely dates of these puzzles manufacture, but estimate them to be of c1980s/90s origin.

nb. I have seen a c1992 example which featured a puzzle with an image linked to the 70th anniversary discovery of the grave of Tutankhamun in 1922.
